Holy Craft

Art Journaling is a passion for some and just a desire for others.  When I first discovered Art Journaling I was mesmerized, I watched every video there was and by the end of 3 days I knew I needed to gather my supplies and figure this out.  However being a perfectionist it is hard to do at times.  It is difficult to just let go and not make everything symmetrical and balanced.  It’s ok to make an ugly page because for every ugly page there are many great ones to follow. Everything is art, soup can label, delivery receipt, tickets from sporting events or concerts, a receipt for parking when you pick up some one special from the airport.
I have seen videos where people save their junk mail postcards and make them into junk journals. You do not waste anything if you don’t want to. There are no limits, no restrictions, just do what you like and if you don’t like it start over, nobody has to see what you don’t like. However ephemera is all around you and many things you would not typically think to use from postcards to fabric swatches, pages from your favorite childhood book, this list is just unbelievable.
There is two projects that I am really looking forward to and the first one is converting old books that you pick up at yard sales into journals. There is page text; words can be added the pages can be washed over to give them a look of an old, old book.
The next one is an art journal that can be made out of watercolor paper 1 sheet does it all.
